What is happiness?

Philosophers throughout the generations have debated what happiness is. Is it a feeling? Is it a state? What is it that makes happiness so universally appealing? In today’s world, how many people can claim that they are truly happy?

While some people may think that money will bring happiness, they cannot be any more wrong. Money is only a means to the end. Over two thousand years ago, Aristotle defined happiness as the ultimate end. Why do we need to study in school? In order to go to college. Why do we need a good education? In order to get a good job. Why do we need a good job? In order to make a good living. Why do we need to make a good living? In order to buy a good house; in order to live a good life. Why do we need to live a good life? In order to be happy. As you can see, I have used the word good umpteenth times in the above paragraph. They all lead to happiness - the best and ultimate end.
